In Memoriam: Former G&STC Therapist and Supervisor Kerrigan Hummel

We are heartbroken to share the passing of former G&STC therapist and supervisor Kerrigan Hummel. Kerrigan passed away unexpectedly in October 2025, during her treatment for breast cancer.

Kerrigan worked at G&STC for nearly four years. She approached her work and life with compassion, humor, and tremendous optimism. As a coworker and colleague, Kerrigan was appreciated for her thoughtful clinical insights and her straightforward way of presenting ideas, never taking herself too seriously and always being open to learning and growing. Kerrigan was never afraid of a challenge, and made herself available to clients and colleagues whenever she was needed. She will be greatly missed.

We have been in touch with Kerrigan’s family to express our sadness and condolences and to ask for permission to post this. They let us know that Kerrigan grew up attending Clearwater Camp for Girls each summer from the time she was eight years old. Clearwater camp was a deeply meaningful experience that shaped Kerrigan in many ways that we saw reflected in her as a person, colleague, supervisor, and clinician. The family let us know that donations be made to the camp in honor of Kerrigan’s memory.

If you are a former client of Kerrigan’s, please feel free to reach out for support. We understand that the loss of a therapist can be a complicated type of grief, but grief nonetheless. G&STC will always be a place you can turn to, and return to, for support.
