We are fully remote and do not currently offer in person sessions.

Each therapist has their own availability and we are open 7 days a week between 8am and 9pm. Sessions outside of those hours are availble upon request and based on therapist availability. Please contact us for current availability. On a case-by-case basis, we may provide in-home sessions.

Our reception team is available Monday through Friday 9 am-5 pm EST. All requests will be answered within 24 hours. Requests made over the weekend will be answered Monday.

We do! We are in-network with Healthfirst and Aetna! We are not in-network with any other insurances or EAPs at this time.

We are considered out-of-network (OON) providers by most commercial insurance companies. Many insurance plans have out-of-network benefits that will typically reimburse between 50% to 80% of session costs after your deductible is met. Most Medicaid plans do not currently offer OON benefits.

Prior to a consultation and session, our reception and billing team will verify your benefits, explain your in-network or out-of-network coverage and make sure that you understand your benefits and cost per session.

After sessions, our billing team will file claims if you’re in-network and can file your claims for you or can provide documentation and support for you to submit to your insurance or if you’re out-of-network. In some cases, we can accept payment directly from your insurance and in other cases, session payments are made in full at the time of the session and insurance reimbursement for covered sessions will be sent directly to you (this is dependent on the insurance).

Session rates depend on the therapist's experience level and licensure status, and fees are determined prior to beginning therapy.

For individual therapy: our full fee is $200. On a case-by-case basis, licensed staff therapists can slide down to $125, and therapists in training (masters level interns) can slide down to $75. For relationship therapy: our full fee is $265. On a case-by-case basis, licensed staff therapists can slide down to $150, and therapists in training (masters level interns) can slide down to $100.

We accept payment via debit card, credit card, HSA and FSA.

If you have Healthfirst or Aetna, please submit your health insurance, so we can verify your benefits and figure out what your copay would be.

If you have out-of-network benefits we will work with you to assess your benefits and figure out a payment plan and copay that is workable for you.

If you do not have Healthfirst, Aetna, or out-of-network benefits, please inquire about our sliding scale if you’re unable to afford our full fee.

Our cancellation policy requires 48-hour notice of cancellation. Cancellation with less than 48 hours’ notice requires payment in full.

Sessions for individuals are 45 or 55 minutes depending on the therapist and insurance provider, and sessions for 2+ people are 50 minutes.

Being on time for sessions is important for both clients and clinicians. If you are going to be late for your session, please let your clinician know as soon as possible. Your clinician will discuss their lateness policy with you during your first session. While our clinicians try to be flexible when they can, it is not always possible to hold a session when a client is late.

Nope! We provide psychotherapy and sex therapy to everyone! As a practice, we have a high level of competence relating to gender, sexuality, sex, and relationships which includes advanced knowledge in working with queer, trans, kinky, and non-monogamous folks. However, we believe that everyone has a relationship to gender, sexuality, sex, and relationships in some capacity and that we are all impacted and harmed by the assumptions, norms, and compulsory nature of hetero- and cis-normativity.

Part of therapy is building a relationship and it’s important that you feel comfortable and safe discussing the issues you most struggle with. Ensuring you and your therapist are a good fit takes intuition and dedicating time to build a relationship where you can make authentic progress.

In the first session, you and your therapist will discuss why you decided to go into treatment and begin discussing relevant current and historical information. Once in treatment, you will make connections to better understand your behavior and patterns, make changes and learn the tools to address new issues as they arise.

If you’re in need of case management services, some insurances provide case management depending on eligibility. Additionally, a variety of organizations such as your local lgbt center and local health center may have case management deparments or referrals for case management.

Additionally, your G&STC therapist may be able to provide a case management referral.

Every person is different and wants and needs a different amount of time and type of treatment. Progress and growth take time and effort, and it's hard to quantify that without having first spent time with you in session, better understanding you and your goals. Some people are in treatment for 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 3 years, 5 years, 10 years, 20 years, or longer. Our goal is to help you learn how to manage and live your life in a way that feels fulfilling and sustainable, relate to therapy however feels best for you and your life, and for you to have agency over your own therapy.

The information discussed in the session is confidential and we will take every step to protect your information. It is unethical for us to disclose content about our work together, with a few exceptions listed below where we are required to break confidentiality:

1) There is a clear and imminent danger to yourself or another person

2) You disclose evidential information of abuse or neglect of a child, yourself, or older adult

3) You authorize us to disclose information by signing a HIPAA form (e.g., to another treatment provider or family member)

4) A court order

5) In a natural disaster
