Understanding and embracing oneself is the key to opening many different doors, including healing, empowerment, and growth. By working towards acceptance of your strengths and weaknesses alike, I believe therapists can help just about anyone unlock their superpowers. Wouldn’t it be awesome to find yours?

About Jaunté

Hello!  I’m Jaunté, and I’m a mixed-race gay man who talks way too much for his own good (Luckily, I tone that down during sessions). With a wide variety of life experiences, such as working in the Felony Drug Courts of San Antonio, Texas, to moonlighting as a Nightlife and Wedding D.J., I’ve learned that there are many interesting lives one can live. As a counselor, I find the greatest joy in helping others explore, sort through, and discover their own paths throughout their unique journeys. Using eclectic and creative approaches to therapy, I’d love to try and find out all of the places you’re headed, too!

Working with Jaunté

Working with me is a mixed bag of experimentation and thoughtful, individualized concepts. Roleplaying, story-building, and activities to raise self-awareness are commonplace, as are sessions of talk-therapy and general check-ins. I’d love for my clients and I to co-build an environment that fosters safety, honesty, understanding, and authenticity. I have training and experience in Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, and Internal Family Systems approaches, but tend to utilize techniques and tools from each and others.

Specialty

I have experience and/or specific training in categories such as (but not limited to): behavioral addictions, substance use, career development, confidence building, gender, sexuality, poly/non-monogamy, kinks, fetishes, complex trauma, relationships, relationship conflict, depression, anxiety, generational trauma, and multicultural counseling.

Education, Training, and Certifications

Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas A&M- San Antonio (2025)
NBCC Minority Fellowship (Addictions Counselors) Alumnus (2022)
