Individual Therapy Services
At The Gender & Sexuality Therapy Center, we provide compassionate, queer-affirming psychotherapy services free of the stigma and shame that LGBTQ+, non-monogamous, and kinky folks may face in their day to day lives.
You deserve understanding. Queer therapists for queer people make a difference.

You Deserve A Space Just For You
A space where your needs get to come first, and are given all of the space you need. Therapy provides a neutral, unbiased, and safe space to dive into your goals, work on patterns you’d like to change, and make space to understand every part of yourself, even the ones you haven’t been able to explore before.
In individual therapy, folks have a safe and accepting environment to work on strengthening their sense of self, improving conflict and communication skills, developing distress tolerance, and exploring their sexuality and gender presentation or expression.
Our queer therapists can help you navigate…
Low self esteem
Microaggressions, discrimination, and identity based trauma
Substance misuse/dependency
Neurodiversity in a neurotypical world
Self doubt & “imposter syndrome”
Coming out
Exploring gender presentation & sexuality
Separations and breakups
Masking/internalized & externalized ableism
Anxiety, depression, and trauma

A Queer Informed Approach
For queer and trans folks, going to therapy isn’t as simple as finding someone nearby. With a heterosexual or cisgender therapist, LGBTQ+ clients face an undue burden of explanation and education, whether it’s about their gender, their sexuality, or the microagressions & discrimination they face outside of therapy. Queer clients deserve a therapist with lived experience and queer cultural competence. Queer therapists can help queer clients connect to their local LGBTQ+ community at large, and can help dig into experiences of minority stress, and the ways cissexist and heterosexual roles and dynamics may be operating as obstacles to feeling empowered as your most authentic self.

Affirming, Empowering Care
Our therapists utilize a queer informed approach, which, at its core, is about providing a supportive and understanding environment, where queer & trans individuals can openly discuss their unique needs, preferences, needs, wants, and experiences without fear of judgement, shame, or misunderstanding. This type of approach prioritizes client agency, autonomy, and empowerment–and removes the burden of explanation for folks often on the margin. Individual therapy at G&STC offers you a space for compassionate care, where LGBTQ+ affirming therapists with lived experience who do the work to understand you. Our team of therapists all have experience with empowering communities often met with stigma, discrimination, and micro aggressions.
