Azalea Weisblatt, LMSW
Therapist
Pronouns: she/it
Society is constantly trying to shove us into neat little boxes. When we don’t fit, we have to forge our own path, and that can be challenging and draining at the best of times. Therapy can help us find a path that suits us, so we can live lives true to our values and ourselves.
About Azalea
I’m a trans and Autistic therapist. I pull energy, silliness and engagement from my experience in theater and role-playing game design into my therapeutic work. My core values of compassion, co-creativity, genuineness, growth, nonconformity and self-knowledge are integral to my practice. I strive to create a supportive and whimsical space in which a client can relax and feel understood. It’s important to me to take you and your feelings seriously, while leaving room for fun and creativity in the process.
Outside of being a therapist, I enjoy making art and music, role-playing games, gardening, dance, cooking and baking, and spending time in nature.
Working with Azalea
I see therapy as a grand exploration of self, helping guide your choices in life. We’ll talk about the experiences you’ve had that shape your worldview. We’ll revisit moments that continue to cause pain. We’ll think about what kind of future you want to experience. Together, we will focus on being present in your life, identifying your values, and exploring how to live your life in accordance with those values.
Many neurodivergent people struggle to identify our emotions and needs. If that’s you, we can build skills together toward understanding emotions, identifying needs, and advocating for yourself. My lived experience with this journey gives me unique insight that helps me support others through it.
My practice is rooted in ACT, incorporating elements of DBT, Motivational Interviewing and Narrative Therapy. I am trained in Trauma-Focused CBT and offer that as a framework for supporting adolescent clients and their families.
